More stuff about Tara

What's Tara been up to?

Well those two top teeth have come through, and now their neighbours look like they are too. To confuse us as to why Tara was getting a bit grizzly, along with teething she developed tonsillitis days after her first week at childcare... it came on very quickly and the worst of it was over in a few days luckily. Tara was prescribed very sweet and very pink antibiotic liquid called keflor which she had for a week. After a couple of days of this and panadol she was opening her mouth to drink the sticky strawberry goo. This made it much easier to help her on her way to getting better.

Tara has conquered crawling forwards - spurred on by a new toy - a musical moving train. When she saw it she bounded forward almost at a sprint to get to it. Mobility is her new mission, she's now pulling herself up in her cot, and standing up using anything remotely stable - play pen, empty nappy boxes, me...

This week Tara is going to childcare by herself, and her first day on her own was a success for both of us. She played, ate, slept and was generally her happy self the whole day. I picked her up around 2:30 for her afternoon feed. If the girls can work their magic and get her to take a bottle I will then be able to leave her for a full day. Karen distracted me well for the first hour I was on my own by taking me to coffee. I then went home and distracted myself with loud music and clearing up in our roof storage area.

This week we've started big organisation changes in our home - moving the office from Tara's room upstairs into the lounge and into the roof. New furniture has been bought, old furniture is being moved out on the weekend, and lots of boxes of accumulated "treasures" are being donated to the salvos.

Tara's new "puppies" book - she has a matching "kittens" one too. She loves books and pats them madly.
