Christmas was a great day for us all, so relaxing. It started with champagne and strawberries at our lovely neighbour's house, then brunch at our place with my family, and a late lunch at Dennis's brother's place. Tara was of course spoiled with lovely gifts, and with her usual amazing sense of timing, gave us the gift of seeing her walk for the first time on Christmas eve. Christmas day was spent walking with Tara every moment she could. We were just a little excited and proud and she was very pleased with herself.
Tara has started signing, she started with "water", and has now added "more" to her vocabulary. It is so very cute, today she was chatting to me as she was signing "water", as if to say "so when I do this Mummy I am asking for some water - ok?". She's also nodding for "yes" in answer to questions "do you want more?", "do you want to go to bed?" etc. So I'm getting the signing book out again reading up. I didn't think she was going to sign, but for some reason I kept doing it and suddenly Tara did too.
She's saying lots of words now too, adding starfish, turtle, cheese, oast (for toast), iss (for this) to her vocabulary. And she understands so much of what we say -"put banana in the cot" (the bananas in pyjamas toy), "find ducky", "breakfast" etc.
