Happy New Year

Miss T is now 14 months, and progressing so fast. We just love watching her learn things.

I finally changed her car seat around last month, and she loves being able to see where we are going. She still manages to have a nap quite happily.

Tara and Dennis love playing chasey & hidey around the sofa chair. Tara quickly discovered she could look underneath to see which way Dennis was going. Tara finds this game very funny, and giggles the whole time.

She's throwing a ping pong ball to Dennis really well now too, one bounce and it gets to him.

Walking is lots of fun, she's almost walking by herself now, just using us for a little support. She's standing without holding onto anything for a couple of seconds, we think she is very close to walking and running.

Tara's signing important words all the time now - "water", "milk" and "more". It is so nice being able to communicate just this little bit, meal times are easier too. She asks for cheese, and nods if she likes the sound of something I suggest -watermelon, toast...

We had a successful sleep over at Karen & Aleks's farm last week, sleeping in their portacot. After a very unsuccessful attempt last year for a Christmas dinner when Tara was teething and we went home at 12:45am in the morning, we were determined to try again. Just a little bit of practise and Tara will be as adaptable as she was on our trip to Europe.

Tara had a fantastic time at the farm, playing with the boys. She's not phased by much at all, and seems to enjoy lots of noise and activity and the energy of the boys. We played on the trampoline, in the fantastic cubby house that is like a real house, complete with timber wall cladding, tv antenna, lights and veranda. We went for a walk up to the dam to see the ducks, and visited the chickens. We got attacked by a rooster which was a bit exciting. We bid a hasty exit from the chicken pen!

We had our second visit to the pool, and Tara loved this too. Lots of splashing, leg kicking, laughing and squealing to match all the other kids.

We'v also been for a couple of rides on the bike, getting Tara used to it for the first Bratpack in almost 2 years!! Brunch in Brighton on Australia Day. Hope to see some of you there.

Tara relaxes in her Croozer - feet up, having a little snack...
