It's all about us...

This is the start of a new blog just for Jenn (and anyone else who is interested in what the Mills's are up to). Please note the very cool blog address, it took me days to come up with it. It would have been "stuffaboutus" except that it had already been snaffled by someone else with an equally impressive imagination. This is where we will ramble endlessly about Tara and the pussy cats and their antics and other bits and bobs...

So what is Miss Tara up to then? Since I've gone to the trouble of setting up this blog best I put something in it :-)

9 Months seems to be when it all starts to happen - crawling backwards, sitting up, pulling herself up in the cot, waving, clapping hands, more teeth threatening to emerge, sleeping on her tummy, hugging soft toys and generally being very very cute.

Tara has settled back into Melbourne life very well after the big trip to Europe, within a couple of weeks she was back to sleeping through the night just about every night. Reminding her how to sleep in her cot during the day has proved to be a challenge, but today we had a win with 40 minutes so maybe she can relearn this too, fingers crossed!

Child proofing Dorky Street has begun - there is one sharp corner protector on the plinth (that low shelf where all the entertainment stuff is), one child-proof door latch on the door at the top of the stairs (this is actually to keep the cats out rather than Tara) and one giant play pen - 2.2*2.2m bought on ebay my favourite shopping centre...

Tara's Vital Stats: Weighing in at 7115g and 69.5cm long, now eating 3 meals a day and enjoying lumpy meat dishes home cooked by ME! Still not taking a bottle but we're working on that too... Her favourite food is fruit puree (also prepared by me - can you tell I'm a bit proud of making baby food that Tara likes?) and rusks.

Pussy cats: Hari and Emi have mastered the art of opening the laundry door and letting themselves out of their night time abode. One of them (we think Emi because she's the clever one) jumps up on the laundry bench, stands on the door handle and pushes the door open. We were woken early one morning to the meows at our bedroom door from the little houdinis...
